The Alberta Mental Health Clinician Wiki is a clinician-focused, crowd-sourced website designed to make it faster and easier to connect patients with mental health resources across Alberta.
Note the search function, available by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right corner. 🔍 ↗️
Click here for general resources or click on one of the links in the menu to the left for resources related to specific patient populations.
The emphasis is on referral resources rather than advice on management; however, there may be a few links to Alberta-specific clinician resources, e.g. Primary Care Pathways, or evidence summaries that are particularly helpful.

There are several other repositories of information on resources in services in Alberta. The goal of this wiki isn't to duplicate these efforts, but fill a gap by providing a curated list of the most helpful resources for specific patient populations, along with enough context to allow a time-strapped clinician to recommend the best resource for the patient in front of them. The following may be helpful in conjunction with this website:
Alberta Referral Directory - "the official referral information source for healthcare services and specialists in the province"
Alberta Pathway Hub - directions for primary care management and referral of various patient populations.
211 Alberta - large database of resources and services, mostly for patients to access directly. Available 24/7 by phone (in over 170 languages ), text and chat.
Inform Alberta - Alberta's province-wide service directory.
Health Link 811 - relevant services accessed through 811 include Dementia Advice Services, AlbertaQuits Tobacco Helpline, Addictions information and referral
MyHealth Alberta - lots of health information for patients is available; little of it is actually Alberta-specific.
Centralized mental health access services:
Edmonton: Access 24/7: 780-424-2424
Calgary: Access Mental Health: 403-943-2500
Elsewhere in Alberta - Access Addiction & Mental Health: 1-888-594-0211 Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Many hands make light work! Help make the Alberta Mental Health Clinician Wiki complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
Fill out this form and we will get in touch to set up a short (~15 minute) on-boarding Zoom call to show you how to use Google Sites and go over best practices.
After that, you have edit access to the site - you decide how much time you want to spend contributing. It could be anything from just correcting a typo, to keeping resources up to date for your area or specialty - any help is appreciated.
Just want to make one small change without going through this whole on-boarding process? Use this form to submit a specific suggestion.
Note: This is not an Alberta Health Services or Recovery Alberta website. It is a private, not-for-profit site created to increase awareness of mental health resources in Alberta.
